Smart factory

We work in close collaboration with industry in order to deal with the most complex challenges of the digital era. We optimise processes and ensure quality in production via capacities such as digitalisation, automation, artificial intelligence and collaborative robotics technologies. This approach enables us to develop customised solutions to optimise processes, guarantee quality in terms of production, and strengthen business competitiveness in an industrial environment that is constantly evolving.

Solutions

Mobile and collaborative robotics for automation of processes
We develop state-of-the-art solutions with technologies that enable operations to be optimised via robots that are capable of working in dynamic environments, by collaborating safely and efficiently with operators. We cover key aspects such as autonomous navigation, precise handling and integration in production systems.
Monitoring of factory products, materials and processes
We design smart systems and components to facilitate real-time monitoring of the state of equipment while it is being operated, thus contributing towards the continuous improvement of processes and to a reduction in costs associated with faults or unexpected stoppages.
Further informationOperator assistance tools
We work on solutions based on artificial vision and extended reality with a view to automating quality control processes and providing operator assistance. Additionally, we prioritise in-plant safety via tools that minimise risks, free workers from repetitive tasks and encourage safer and more productive working environments.
Further informationFactory positioning and localization systems
We develop state-of-the-art positioning systems based on radiofrequency technologies such as uwb (ultra-wide band) and ble-aoa (angle of arrival), designed to accurately locate individuals, vehicles and objects in industrial environments, both indoors and outdoors. These solutions are adapted to a range of applications, ranging from logistics optimisation to improvement in safety, by providing real-time data to facilitate more efficient and safer handling of resources and operations.

Inspection and quality control systems
We develop state-of-the-art inspection and control systems by using non-destructive testing (ndt) techniques such as electromagnetic measurements, the magnetic barkhausen emission technique, magnetic flow dispersion, induced currents, electric impedances and artificial vision. These tools ensure product quality by accurately and reliably detecting faults.
Cybersecure factories
We develop state-of-the-art systems and technologies to help protect industrial environments from cyberthreats. Our work ranges from the identification and protection of assets or monitoring and detection of anomalies to the simulation of cyberattacks and countermeasures.
Further informationArtificial intelligence in manufacturing
We apply artificial intelligence (AI) with a view to optimising processes by designing efficient machine learning models to control robots and exoskeletons, and also 2D artificial vision and 3D deep learning-based techniques. Additionally, we integrate Explainable AI systems into industrial environments, thus improving trust, safety and spatial perception via augmented and mixed reality.
Further informationDigital twins for manufacturing
We design digital twins using precise modelling of manufacturing processes, thus creating virtual replicas that enable operations to be simulated, monitored and analysed in real time. These solutions improve efficiency, reduce inactivity and facilitate decision-making in industrial environments.
